Vi har på besøk vår Vennskap Nord-Sør partner Colombia en Hechos fra Colombia, og vil gjerne bruker anledning til å spre informasjon ang. dems spennende arbeid rundt Miljø, Fred og Bærekraftig Utvikling.
Colombia en Hechos : A non-governmental, nonprofit organization (NGO) working since 2002 on environmental projects. The organization was founded by an interdisciplinary group of professionals committed with the generation, alongside with local communities, internal refugees, groups of people and institutions, of real options for conservation and sustainable development (understanding development as a constant change to create human settlement for sustainability and peace). Colombia en Hechos address problems resulting from the impact that our current life styles and our internal conflict: Refugees, poverty, water pollution, production and management of waste, consumption behavior, deforestation due to the expansion of the agricultural frontier and logging, indiscriminate hunting and fishing, pollution created by the use of agrochemicals.
The efforts have resulted in the development of several alternative programs, including ecotourism, environmental education projects, creation of new private reserves and educational material developed by local communities. This work has taken place in communities located in Colombia’s Caribbean, Pacific, Orinoco, Amazon and Andean regions.”
Change the World: Change the World has taken up the task of working towards real, hands-on processes of change from an integral and holistic perspective, promoting sustainable development from the grass-root. We use permaculture as a tool for the design of integral sustainable systems. This way we foment the establishment of ecovillages, eco-neighborhoods, eco-centers and other kinds of sustainable human settlements capable of being real, inspirational and demonstrative examples, bonding Man and Nature through social-ecology.

We believe it’s indispensable to have solid examples of alternative development and different ways of living which correspond to local needs, based on specific realities of each human group and each place. These examples should be serving as sources of inspiration and not as models. Knowing other ways of: organization, social structures, production, building, economy, sources of energy, etc. will allow us to create better living conditions for sustainable and integral development. When these living experiences, creating self-sufficiency, community-sense and minimum natural impact really work, it allows them to multiply and spread around.
